WHAT IS A PELOTON?

A Peloton is a team. Pelotons are a great way for a group of five or more individuals to share their experience. In addition to the individual member profile pages, a separate Peloton profile page allows you to highlight your Peloton roster and your motivation for riding. Peloton members can share donations made to the Peloton as a whole and/or can share funds raised by individual members. Funds may only be shared with fellow Peloton members at the end of the fundraising period.

HOW DO I START MY PELOTON (Team)?

The person who chooses to be the Peloton Captain must log into his/her profile and select “Pelotons (Teams)” in the upper right-hand navigation menu. From there they must select the ‘Create A Peloton’ tab.

Please note, all Pelotons (Teams) must have at least 5 members. Once the Peloton (Team) has been created the Captain will have the ability to invite members, upload a profile picture, and share the Peloton’s story.

HOW CAN PELOTONS (Teams) SHARE FUNDS?

The fund sharing period for Chainbreaker 17 will occur between October 9-20, 2017. During this time, there are two ways to share funds.

  1. Funds donated directly to the Peloton may be shared among individual Peloton Riders who still need additional funds to reach their fundraising commitment.
  2. If an individual Peloton member has exceeded their fundraising commitment, the excess funds can be distributed to another member of the Peloton who has not met their commitment.

All requests to share funds must be emailed to info@ChainbreakerRide.org by the Peloton Captain by October 20, 2017. Most Pelotons expect those making a request for shared funds to have had involvement during the training year by supporting group efforts and being part of the team. Each Peloton sets their own fund sharing criteria and it will vary; there are no guarantees. While we support fund sharing, we ask that you use fund sharing to supplement (not lead) your individual fundraising efforts. Dollars shared ultimately affect the total dollars raised for life-saving cancer research.

CAN I CHANGE THE NAME OF MY PELOTON (Team)?

Yes, the Peloton Captain can change the name of your Peloton (Team) under the ‘Manage Peloton’ tab on the Peloton profile page.

HOW CAN I JOIN A PELOTON (Team)?
